Modeling and Simulation
ECBC's Modeling, Simulation and Analysis team manipulates first
principle and empirical physics models to realistically portray a chemical/biological
threat environment and predict the ability of protective equipment to
perform under varying conditions. Simulation tools are applied to assist
customers in problem solving, drive system design parameters to optimize
performance, assess chemical/biological scenario probable outcomes or
validate and verify chemical/biological field models.
Continuing Modeling Efforts
Staff is working to design systems capable of modeling hazards in a
variety of scenarios including:
- Counterforce
- Passive defense
- Accident and/or incidents
- High altitude releases
- Urban nuclear, biological or chemical environments
- Building interiors
- Human performance degradation
